So how can we make a snack that is low in salt and sugar?
Today students learned how to sanitize their hands with hand sanitizer and use latex gloves.
Students created the trail mix bowl following the recipe:
1 cup popcorn (lightly salted microwave)
1 Tbl unsalted sunflower seeds
1 Tbl yogurt raisins
1 Tbl mini unsweetened chocolate chips
Students then continued to FINISH food labels assignment given on Tuesday 9/17.
INTERIMS were passed out and should come back signed on Monday 9/23

How much salt, saturated fat and sugar should we consume per day?
Using your PDF print out of your Myplate plan you can see how many grams/ milligrams you to consume.

*Students looked at the snack food samples in class and saw how much sodium were in each snack using the nutrition food label.
*Students looked at the beverage food samples in class and saw how much sugar were in each snack using the nutrition food label. (Mrs. Creech had the grams of sugar of each in a zip lock back so you could see actually how much added sugar was in the beverage)
